Teardown

Inside a transformer

A textbook core-type step-down transformer, such as 230 V in, 24 V out. Real units usually split each winding across both limbs to reduce leakage; here the primary and secondary sit on separate limbs so they’re easy to tell apart. Energize it, then try removing the top yoke or the core while it runs.
